Based on Perry's famous play 'The Haves and the Have Nots', the film follows three different families, the Cryer family and the Harrington family that are rich and powerful, and the poor Young family. Following their daily activities, the film features how the difference in their status can effect their lifestyles in term of economics, social class, and surroundings.
